Sorry So Late...

WooHoo For Valentines Day!

I know I said I would be posting my Valentines Day present the day after Valentines but... well life has been a little... hectic here. I haven't slept all that well these last couple of nights and when I tell you what I got as a present you will understand.... Instead of telling you I will show you!

Ryan surprised me the morning of Valentines Day he woke me up after being at work all night and gave me a card... a very very cute card I might add. After reading the card I gave him a big hug and thanked him and he asked me if I wanted my present. I replied with " You got me a present?! Really! Thank you!" So he digs around in his backpack and hands me a collar... and then a leash. I spouted out with "You got me a puppy!?!" He said no... not yet but if you get dressed real fast we can go pick one out that you want. I leaped out of bed and threw some clothes on devoured a bagel then we headed out the door.

We headed to the local shelter and to our dismay it would not be open for another 2 and a half hours. So we headed to PetSmart to pick up supplies hoping that would kill some time. Once in PetSmart we heard puppies barking and headed to the adoption center.

I inspected all of the puppies, some not so little, and decided on four that both Ryan and I liked. Well... One we both really liked and with a name like Pickles we thought it was meant to be... but seeing his cage and him gnawing on his own paws... we had to think twice.

The first Dog we had the chance of holding and playing with ended up coming home with us but not after we tried out a few other dogs as well.

Her name WAS Marcie but we decided she was more of a Zoe...

She is a very sweet 12 week Lab/Hound mix and we couldnt be happier with our pick.

Zoe is super smart and after the first day already knows her new name. By the second day she accomplished climbing up and down stairs, has become best friends with our cat Zorro, plays fetch, can walk on a leash and is somewhat house trained... somewhat.

As for my sleepless nights I have been dealing with a husband who is working the gravyard shift and a puppy who doesnt like her kennel. Zoe also has kennel cough which she has an Vet apointment today to get taken care of.
Although having a puppy is a lot of work up front we know that she will be an awsome addition to our family and what a more perfect time to have her in our lives with a new baby on the way, not to mention Zoe is the perfect cuddle buddy for me when Ryan is not at home.

I think Ryan did an excellent job finding a Valentines Day present... our past Valentines have been kind of well... uneventful but this year made up for it 10 fold. (first Valentines he was out floating on a Ship in the middle of the Persian Gulf and our second... we just didnt have the money).

Thanks Ryan!!! :)

Obama... Still Not His Biggest Fan

Welcome To Obamaland...

I was practically forced to watch the Presidential Address since it was being broadcast on 6 or so channels. My curiosity got the better of my and I caved to see what "intelligent" things he had to say.

I will admit I didn't really care much to listen to what he had to say in all of the debates and so forth so when I had heard he was a wonderful speaker I figured he was, well ... a good speaker. This was not the case the other night.

In my opinion Obama should take up dancing, because all he did was dance and tip toe around the answers. Very few of the questions that were asked were ever answered.

Not only was it aggravating to listen to him NOT answer anything but he is a horrible speaker in general. I was bewildered as I watched him "umm, Uhh... umm" his way through so called answers.

As if giving half-hearted replys were not bad enough he went through the same pattern every time someone asked a question. His response went something to the effect of: a brief explanation of the question and heading to an answer, quickly get off topic, show a little attitude(as if some blame was being placed on him for something), come up with some lame story that had everything to do with some podunk town and nothing to do with the topic, this was followed by him calling on the next person for their question, and then the cycle continues.

My opinion still stands of Obama, if anything it is more concreate. He doesn't have the best interest of this country at heart. If a man cant swallow his pride long enough to place his hand on his heart during the pledge of allegiance then what makes the people of this country think that he has the humility to think of anyone other than himself and his "legacy" in the reign of his presidency.

Here is a link if you would like to watch it for yourself.

7. Were you in band, orchestra or choir? Nope.

8. Were you a nerd? Haha... yeah I would say I qualified.

We have to coolest cat EVER!

Now that I have proof of our 'fetching cat'...

Ok so I really love animals... always have and probably always will. I love dogs... I think they are great companions, they are smart, funny and just all around wonderful to have around. Well since we don't have a dog... we couldn't go any longer without our other cat Ferrari, who decided to go MIA the day we left San Diego on our trip out here, we were given a cat and named him Zorro the Masked Kitty.

Now many of you are probably wondering why I am mentioning my cat that I have already introduced on blogger in this article. Well because we found out just how cool our cat is... he can play fetch! Yes, you read right... fetch. It is hilarious. He has a ball that has little bell in it and will pick it up in his mouth and drop it close by and wait for one of us to toss it. Once tossed he jets off after it, pounces on it, bats it around like a soccer ball and picks it up with his mouth and brings it back.

He has been doing this for a little while now but Ryan had not yet experienced it until last night and now Ryan is in amazement that our cat really truely thinks, and acts, like a dog.

So far Zorro comes when he is called, plays fetch, plays hide and seek and tag. I think we can safety say that we have a pretty cool cat.

I Did It... I Finally Did It...

I know I have talked about cutting my hair for well over a year now but I just couldn't go on any longer. I said goodbye to 7 inches of hair, I was an inch shy of being able to donate.

I went into the salon and told the lady who was cutting my hair that no one besides me aunt has taken scissors to my hair since I was 12... and if she did a good job she would have a very very loyal customer. She did a phenomenal job, I think, and yes she will have a returning customer... I am so glad that I didn't have to experience a stylist who would make me regret cutting my hair.

So what do you all think? Does it suit me?
